I've been fixing, building, renovating, and remodeling most of my adult life. Early on, I would jump right in and just start, then do the next thing, and so on. Over time, my experiences have taught me that if you've got enough drive and persistence (and lots of luck) you can pull that off. Kinda sorta. But I've learned some really important lessons about the planning process that can make it less frustrating and hopefully a lot less drawn out. And I wanted to share those. We've been here in Prescott, AZ since 2009 where we've been working on transforming our downtown property almost non-stop, until earlier this year. My recent reno project with our historic bungalow, caused me to reflect on the process and I took the time to put together a blog and several articles about the process.
Secondly. I realized that there were some best practices that I've learned the hard way, which could truly benefit so many others embarking on this same path. I share all this insight with every one of my clients - and it all applies whether you are doing a small remodel, a massive renovation, or landscape and garden work. In that process, I am acting as the homeowners' advocate in turning their ideas into feasible designs with the connections and resources they need to execute successfully.
I first wrote about those key steps several years ago and the saga begins with "How to Find a Contractor in the Wild West", and that's the backdrop for the lessons learned that I've gelled down to 7 Key Steps: to avoiding unnecessary stress and delay do you need some guidance on your project?Did you know that The Whiskey Porch does architectural and landscape design here in Prescott, AZ? We are highly qualified to help walk you through this entire 7-Step Process, as well as crafting a stellar custom design plan. And we love what we do!! You can learn more about our Services, Portfolio, as well as Testimonials: I hope you find these words of wisdom helpful. I'd love to find out what you think! Drop me a comment in the window below.
