greetings from the porch

 Welcome to our big idea!

​Although I didn't officially begin this brand until fairly recently (summer 2019), we've been making tough choices and taking bold steps to shrink our lifestyle and abode since 2009.  And ever since we scored this small, historic bungalow in the high country of Prescott, Arizona, the end of each day has been spent on the "whiskey porch" here at Juniper Hill Cottage.  Beverages in hand, while the sunset unfolds.  Did I mention the stunning view of Thumb Butte and downtown?

I've been crafting homes and gardens since I was, well, making mud pies in the woods on a slab of granite.  Let's just say that's a long time.  It's my passion!

The team

At the moment, The Whiskey Porch, is a one-woman show.  After 3 decades in corporate finance in Silicon Valley and the NFL, dealing with strategic planning and lots of stress, I began a journey to "follow my folly".  I started Baldur Studios in 2013, the Arizona Artisans Collective in 2016, and now this big idea in 2019.  I do literally everything including photos, videos, graphics, website, blog writing, and of course all the creative design and renderings.  I live in northern Arizona with my amazing husband Michael, our yellow lab Ibis, and Nellie the cat in a small-not-tiny 1924 craftsman bungalow called Juniper Hill Cottage.  Our four kiddos are grown and off chasing their dreams!
