Porches of Prescott ~ Porch on pleasant

Every spring I like to run a few local porch features to share some inspiration and a ton of the coolness from our neighbors' favorite sittin' spots.

I'm kicking porch season off just barely in the nick of time, here at the end of March.  Stay tuned for more this spring.

​Pleasant street porch

This is a narrow front porch tucked in under the eaves on Pleasant Street in downtown Prescott. 

​It looks as though it's original to the house, and is well lived in.  We really like the repeating posts and the simple color scheme. 
​

Dutch doors are less common these days, but a fun detail.  And the pair of lanterns on either side of the door finish it off nicely.

The key to making this porch so functional and attractive, is the delicate and airy furniture.  The smaller scale of the furnishings suits the narrow space.  The simple color palette helps tie it all together and that wonderful swinging bench is so inviting.  I hope it's as comfy as it looks.
