August celebrates the start of harvest season in Prescott’s high desert. With monsoon rains continuing, your garden should be in full summer mode - filled with produce, flowers, and growth. It’s a month to enjoy your garden’s bounty and prepare for the cooler months ahead.

No - not a planted mushroom! Just came along because the soil was healthy :)

🌼 Seasonal Highlights

• Harvest, plant, repeat: Keep harvesting herbs, veggies, and fruits—this encourages ongoing production. It’s also a perfect time to seed cool-season crops like lettuce, carrots, peas, and kale.
• Irrigation check-in: Even during monsoon, you’ll want to run deep drip cycles to help established plants. Fresh plantings might still need hand-watering on dry days, and rain sensors can avoid overwatering.
